2008 represents the 15 year anniversary since Wakefield Inspection Services purchased many of the assets of Edward. T. Robertson & Son, and we wish to thank our valued clients for the opportunity to continue the steady and sustained growth of the company.

The early establishment of WIS companies in The Commonwealth of Independent States was further augmented by the establishment of WIS companies in Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East and South America. Further regional offices have been established at Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Cuiaba (Brazil), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Riga (Latvia), Shanghai (China) and Tashkent (Uzbekistan).

WIS Laboratory services also continues to expand, with laboratories now established in Brazil (Cuaiba and Paranagua), Uzbekistan (Tashkent), Latvia (Riga), India (Mumbai) and further laboratories planned for Rajkot (opening mid 2008).

The latest addition to the WIS group of companies is Wakefield Inspection Services (Asia) Ltd., a co-ordination centre based in Shanghai and opened in 2008 to better serve our clients in Asia / Australia. This new co-ordination centre is staffed by Peter Wakefield (M.D. of WIS group) and Gary Whittington (member of WIS team since 1994). The new co-ordination office supplements the existing Wakefield Inspection Services (China) Ltd. operational office which provides full post-landed / pre-shipment controlling services, damage surveys, warehouse inspections, stock checking, manual classing, micronaire testing together with full laboratory testing facilities in Shanghai.

As we celebrate 15 years of WIS in 2008, we wish to again thank our valued customers and reaffirm our on-going commitment to provide accurate, unbiased, expedient and factual reporting for all the services offered by WIS.
